I had a great time in high school. I believe in what I’ve learned and experienced. I am confident it can help many. There are millions of kids going through high school each year, and I intend to help at least 100,000 of them. I know what I am talking about, but at the end of the day nothing I say or write or do can change anyone. I can only point in the right direction; the person I am guiding still has to make the journey.
My sons make their own choices. I am still very proud of them. No, they don’t have perfect GPAs like I did, but I still love them. Do I believe they could have perfect grades? Absolutely. However, I understand that they just have to earn it for themselves! But, that’s the key, they have to earn it! It's not a matter of intelligence or ability, it just stringing together a series of simple disciplines. Meantime, I will continue to support them, laugh and cry with them, and love them unconditionally; because that’s what real fathers do!
My teens are good-hearted young men, who are generous in so many ways. They will give their money away to a person in need without thinking twice. They are quick to give words of encouragement or a listening ear to anyone in pain. They are passionate about their dreams and are always there to remind me to have fun when I am working too hard. My boys are some of my favorite people to be around. I see the love and instruction I have poured into them surfacing, and I can’t wait for the rest of the world to see what my sons have to offer. I know that they will change the world for the better. My sons are great students of life.
Truth is, I think I am learning way more from them than the other way around...
...and I thank God, He trusted me to be their dad.
